The fruitful partnership at West Ashley High School between Luke Hamilton’s special education students and Jason Wheless’ culinary arts students continues to grow.
Mr. Hamilton’s students will continue to utilize raised beds in the high school’s inner courtyard as they did last year, growing herbs and produce to be used in Mr. Wheless’ culinary arts kitchen.
But this year, they will have a new greenhouse outfitted with new pots and tools thanks to a $5000 grant from Carolina Green Fair, thanks in part to support from Bosch Charleston.
The plan is to have the new greenhouse installed on November 14, Trident United Way’s annual Day of Caring. Stay tuned for more details and pictures.
Thanks to all that have supported this inclusive project at West Ashley High School.
