April 16, 2015 – Charleston, SC – Mrs. Suzi C. Raiford, SC Regional Career Specialist for the Trident Region, announce the following regional winners today from Charleston County School District under consideration for a state-wide award to be presented at the annual SC Business and Education Summit:

Work-based Learning Student of the Year, Trident region:
Stephen Maddy, Webpage Design & Development, West Ashley High School

Stephen’s nomination has been submitted to the State Dept. of Education Office of Career and Technology Education where a selection committee will review state-wide nominations to determine the S.C. Work-based Learning Student of the Year.  One student winner will be recognized at the annual SC Education and Business Summit June 21-24 in Greenville.

 

Counselor of the Year, Trident region:
Celeste Bearden, Director of Gudiance, Garrett Academy of Technology

Ms. Bearden’s nomination has been submitted to the State Dept. of Education Office of Career and Technology Education where a selection committee will review State-wide nominations to determine the S.C. Counselor of the Year.  One counselor winner will be recognized at the annual SC Education and Business Summit June 21-24 in Greenville.
