The Lucky Charms Robotic Team Breaks Ranking Records
The West Ashley CAS/West Ashley HS robotics team, The Lucky Charms, is ranked 10th in the world! This group of champions have been competing together since their freshman year. They are now seniors and their long-term commitment, growth, and teamwork is paying off.
According to Michael Lemieux, “All of us put in about three hours of work every day in school.”
The Lucky Charms’ Achievements:
- Qualified for the VEX Robotics World Championships 8 of the past 9 years
- Highest win rate of any team in SC, including 4 major tournament championships and various other awards including the Design and Excellence Awards.
- Earned a 96-point Autonomous Skills score breaking previous world record of 91 points. They now are the world record holders for highest Autonomous Skill score!
- Score above placed them 1st overall in Autonomous Skills at Carolina Countdown Event
- A major VEX V5 Robotics Competition Signature Event that was held December 31st-January 1st at the Greenville Convention Center. Included 80+ high schools from across the United States and Canada
- Global Standing- Top-10 world ranking: ranking is comprised of Autonomous Skills Score (1st),their Drivers Skills Score (18th)

- Preparing for the South Carolina State Championship in March
- Competing at the VRC CREATE U.S. Open in Council Bluffs, Iowa in March
- Competing again at the VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri in April
