Employees from SCRA (South Carolina Research Authority) and CIS (Communities in Schools) spent the day at Jerry Zucker Middle School on Friday, November 14, 2014 as they participated in Trident United Way’s Day of

Be the SparkCaring. They installed a giant “Be the Spark” mural over one of the school’s stairways and painted “Enter to Learn” and “Exit to Serve” murals in the school’s lobby.

In the afternoon, they worked with Zucker’s pre-engineering teacher and his classes on a Marshmallow Challenge activity and also talked to students about careers in engineering and program/project management.

The Day of Caring at Zucker Middle was coordinated by Mr. Will Thompson, Zucker’s Communities in Schools Student Support Specialist.

Thank you to SCRA for donating all the supplies for the day’s activities, and thanks to all that made this terrific learning experience possible for students!
