Academic Magnet HS Students Bring Home Awards from Technology Student Association (TSA) State Competition

March 25, 2024 – Charleston, SC – Congratulations to the Academic Magnet High School’s Technology Student Association (TSA) students, who this past Saturday, March 23, 2024 won several events at the state’s TSA conference.
First place awards went to the following students in their respective events:
Biotechnology Design – Leah Bagg and Keerthana Samuel
Children’s Stories – Leah Bagg, Elaine Chen, and Keerthana Samuel
Coding – Jacob Beuk and Zack Francisco
Data Science and Analytics – Leah Bagg
Drone Challenge – Noah Houfek, Zavier Nutting, Yamil Perez, and Luke Williams
Essays on Technology – Keerthana Samuel
Video Game Design – Jacob Beuk, Graham Gregory, Maddy Jolly, and Victoria Haber
Webmaster – Leah Bagg and Graham Gregory
Second place awards went to the following students in their respective events:
Computer Aided Design (CAD) Architecture – Maddy Jolly
Data Science and Analytics – Zach Butler and Conner Li
Prepared Presentation – Keerthana Samuel
Extemporaneous Speech – Adam Leon
A third place award went to Maddy Jolly and Graham Gregory for Debating Technological Issues.
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, non-profit career and technical student organization (CTSO) of students engaged in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Students are given the chance to pursue academic challenges among friends with similar goals and interests. The AMHS students competed in several competitive events this past weekend at the state level. They all qualified for at least one event at the National Championship that will be held June 26-30 in Orlando, FL. Congratulations and Go Raptors!
