Military Magnet Academy Robotics Host Lowcountry Scrimmage

On Saturday, December 14th MMA’s RoboEagles and TalonSkies hosted the FIRST South Carolina FTC Lowcountry Scrimmage, and it was an incredible event!  With an amazing turnout of 19 teams from across the Lowcountry, the cafeteria was buzzing with energy, collaboration, and innovation!

Teams showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills as they navigated this season’s challenge with precision and determination. The event wasn’t just a scrimmage but a celebration of STEM, teamwork, and the FIRST Core Values.

A massive shoutout to all the participating teams for their dedication, ingenuity, and sportsmanship. Military Magnet Academy was also honored to welcome special guests from the South Carolina Aquarium along with our Science Team, Mr. Crawford, Ms. Waddell, and Ms. Small, who inspired all with their insights into marine biology—perfectly tying into this season’s game theme.

Thank you to MMA’s Cybersecurity team members who volunteered their time to run concessions and to keep the volunteer lounge stocked with food and beverages.

Again, thank you volunteers, sponsors, and the fantastic community for coming out and supporting the next generation of engineers, coders, and innovators. Their encouragement fuels our mission to promote STEM education and opportunities for all students.

Please stay tuned as teams work on their robots and strategies for the upcoming qualifier at Phillip Simmons High School on February 1, 2025. We can’t wait to see what’s next for these incredible students!
