Ms. Melissa Davis’ Marine Biology class from St. Johns High School recently visited the SC Aquarium for a a behind the scenes tour of the sea turtle hospital.

Students learned about sea turtles and enjoyed a hands-on mock diagnosis of two sick turtles including stomach analysis, blood work and physical exam.

Work-based learning opportunities like this help students connect their academic studies with their future careers.

Thanks to the SC Aquarium staff for welcoming CCSD students from St. Johns HS and many other schools throughout the Charleston region into their facility for compelling and educational programming!
