March 13 Trident Regional Career Exploration Fair

EXHIBITOR PARTICIPATION

1000+ students from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester county schools will be arriving at the Exchange Park fairgrounds in Ladson on a staggered schedule from 8:30am to 1:30pm on March 13, 2024.

PRIMARY FOCUS: Career Awareness & Discovery

  • Students in grades 8th -11th will have the opportunity to explore hands-on experiences, building their awareness on the wide range of careers that await them in the Trident Region!

Employer & Training Providers Participation Information

There is no charge to participate, but sponsorship support to offset the event expenses is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to our school district leaders from Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties as well as economic development, workforce training, chambers of commerce, and many others for supporting this regional event! And, huge thanks to the Exchange Club of Charleston for their support of our location, Exchange Park fairgrounds.


SCHOOLS PARTICIPATION STEPS

The “Be Pro Be Proud” SC Truck will be there! A list of participating companies will be shared closer to the event with registered schools.

  1. PRIMARY AUDIENCE: Grades 8th – 10th
    Students in grades 11th & 12th also welcome.
    Think about the best way to fill 40 seats on each bus you will be bringing.
  2. CONSIDER WHEN YOUR GROUP WILL ARRIVE 
    Schools can arrive between 8:30am – 11:30am.
    Schools should plan to stay at the event for @ 1 hour, or longer if needed.
    Schools should make their own lunch plans – cafeterias can typically provide “to go lunches” as needed.

  3. INITIATE FIELD TRIP REQUIREMENTS
    Complete initial required school / district forms & reserve your transportation.
    * CCSD Schools: Please utilize the Structured Field Study Toolkit, and transportation funds are pre-approved for this event. (skip step 1 on toolkit)
  4. BUILD ROSTER OF PARTICIPATING STUDENTS
    School counselors, career specialists, teachers, and administrators collaborate to determine the students best served with attending this event.
