West Ashley High School Nail Techs Compete

We are extremely proud of West Ashley Nail Tech students for their dedication and competitive spirit competing while competing in the FreeStyle Nail Art competition in Myrtle Beach on March 25th.  By students competing in this competition, it encourages them to continue in the career field they are passionate about and become entrepreneurs.

Students participated in the FreeStyle Nail Art competition that required them to create their own colors and designs. Nail Techs were given 45 minutes to create their nail design, they were furnished with two (2) mannequin hands with pre-applied extensions. The artwork consisted of acrylic paints, rhinestones/gems, striping tape, glitter, foil, and lace. This competition gave students the opportunity to vision the entire outlook of cosmetology, not just nail technology.

Congratulations to Leah Brown, Micalah Raynor and Yaretzi Andiwi Padilla – 3rd place trophy winner

Thank you Ms. Helen Shepherd, West Ashley HS Nail Technology Teacher for sharing this success!
