Career Carousel Event Held for Wando 9th Grade Academy Students

February 25, 2015 – Over 900 students in the freshman class at Wando High School participated in a career awareness and CTE program information event today.

Students visited various CTE Classrooms for an overview of each of the four “Schools of Study” at Wando:

  • School of Arts and Humanities – Ms. Ashley Wyrick, Dean
  • School of Business and Information Systems – Ms. Betsy Wilson, Dean
  • School of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering – Mr. David Roemer, Dean
  • School of Health, Human and Public Services – Ms. Ruth Truluck, Dean

Students enjoyed a video detailing the CTE Programs available in each School of Study and got to participate in some hands on activities in each room.  Each completed an evaluation and response sheet after the event to communicate their takeaways.

The goal of the event was to expose freshmen first hand to the wide variety of Career and Technology Education programs available at Wando High School.
